How do you make the costumes for this act?
I’m doing a talent show at school and me and all my friends are dancing to Imma Be. We were going to do glow stick dancing and i want to know how to make costumes like in this video:

Really simple: black sweatshirt or long-sleeve t-shirt, black gloves, black sweatpants, black “see-thru” hood. LOTS of glow necklaces stitched to fabric and popped in end-to-end connectors.

You could use toilet rolls for the fingers and then split a toilet roll and use the 2 bits to cover the back of the hand.

Get yourself a white body suit and tights. Take black fabric paint and draw your stick appendages. Pull your hair up under a white stocking cap. Paint your face white and draw on a nice ‘stickman’ face.

I need some help in making a costume of the nanosuit from Crysis?
I’ll be using stuff like cardboard, foam, aqua/fiberglass resin, clear coat, primer and spray paint. And mini glow sticks embedded in the suit for “Maximum strength/speed/armor(no invisibility)”. The cardboard mainframe will be worn over long johns. My real questions are-
How do I secure/attach/glue the frame to the long johns?
How do I make the cardboard less stiff so that flexing arms and legs will be easy? The nanosuit looks like an exoskeleton.
How the hell do I do the hexagonal black pattern on the suit? (like this-http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/4615/nanosuit2desktop0011192.jpg)

There’s a type of bolt called a chicago screw that could be used to attach the frame to your costume. Simply punch or drill a hole through it, and the fabric of your cosstume. It will take about 6 places to attach these. Buy the ones that are slightly longer than some typical ones (they’re available in hobby shops, most places that sell bridles and horse halters, and hardware stores). When you attach them, on the inside of your suit, have a piece of craft/hobby foam. I’m talking about the type that you can cut letters out of, Make sure all your chicago screws go through this, which will give it a basis of support.
I couldn’t see your photo, but if it’s what I’m thinking of, you can mask off your suit with duct tape, and lightly spray paint the suit. If you use paint that’s made for fabric and/or vinyl, it will turn out better.

Any Ideas on how to accomplish this Halloween outfit?
I just watched an episode of America’s Funniest Videos, and saw the coolest costume ever! The people were all dressed in black, and were wearing some type of neon or fluorescant tubes to make themselver look like stickmen in the dark. Does anyone have any idea on what they could have used, and where I could get my hands on such a thing? It looked like those Glow sticks, but they were flexible, and long. Any ideas would be appreciated!
They were outdoors in the dark

Some questions about EL wire?
EL wire, or electroluminescent wire, is a wire which… well glows pretty colors lol. I want to buy some to make a costume, but I have some questions. I have a feeling that it will degrade over time, but how long will it take? Or do they start to degrade immeidately like glow sticks? What is it that causes them to glow, a chemical reaction or something else?
admin answers:
Electroluminescent (EL) Wire lights up from the element Phosphor, in the powder form. When the particles are excited, they glow (very pretty indeed). The only way to excite the particles is with a high frequency charge. This is why a special inverter is needed to make the wire glow. The shelf life of EL Wire varies greatly depending on where you get it from. EL Wire typically bought on Ebay, Amazon, etc. Is generally very cheap wire, that degrades quickly (about 1-2 years max), whereas specialty stores (like Ellumiglow.com) have wire that lasts far longer. You can expect the shelf life of these wires to be about 4-6 years. At that time, the wire just doesn’t stop working, it slowly breaks down the phosphor particles, and the wire will get dimmer over time. The expected working life of EL Wire is about 4-6,000 hours which beats your average glow stick by about 5,992 hours…

Glowing wear for Halloween costume?
Looking for some ideas on where/what to do or buy either some longer glow tubes like the light sticks..longest they have are the necklaces. Or how to have some sort of tube with glowing(or what seems to glow) blue liquid running through it, bubbling? Like it is part of the make up of my body. Sounds crazy I know but it’s hard to explain & even harder to find anything close to what could look realistic.

Does this sound like a good Halloween costume to you?
So I was deciding on a Halloween costume a few days ago, I thought maybe a Barbie, but I was still deciding. But then I went to Burger King and got this Gary the Snail headband. So this great idea popped into my head: I’ll be Gary the Snail (from Spongebob). The headband is light pink and Gary’s eyes are sticking up off of it, and the eyes are glow-in-the-dark!
So I sat down and thought about how I’d go about making this costume, and here’s what I came up with:
I’ll wear light blue sweatpants and a light blue jacket or shirt. I’ll try to paint my face blue with face paint. I’ll take a box the size of my back and paint it like Gary’s shell, and then I’ll poke small holes in the ‘shell’ and tie pink ribbon on it so I wear it like a book bag. I’ll wear the Gary Headband.
Does that sound like a good costume to you?
admin answers:
Yeah! That sonds really really really cool! You could also get a spongebob squarepants plushie or something and carry it around with you. But overall, this sounds like a great costume.
